Neil Young Documentary Exposes Monsanto

Well known activist and famous musician Neil Young is pushing some buttons and stirring up discussion with a new short documentary he has created called “Seeding Fear.”  Seeding fears is a documentary designed by Young to inspire more of his fans and the general public to call into question the dubious practices and influence of Monsanto whose actions and practices are exposed in the documentary.

Young also recentlyreleased an album entitled “The MonsantoYears,”.  Young actively uses his celebrity to bringthe public focus to corruption and the genetic engineering and food politicsissues that are affecting the global community.

The short 10 minuteexpose documents the true story of Michael and Wayne White- father and sonfarmers, who took on the massive biotech corporation to court.

Wayne White was sued by Monsantodecades after ceasing to farm and the case brought against him virtually ruinedhis life, according to his son Michael who says, “He went to his grave –this grave – still afraid of [Monsanto].”

Their personal andintense story is told in this short documentary film and would serve humanitywell to be spread far and wide as it can help open the discussion and inspireradical change in our willingness to accept the powers of the biotech industry.

Youngdebuted his film with the following statement,

“As I write this, thedark act is up for a vote in the House of Representatives; representatives ofthe people. The dark act takes away the rights of those people to vote for oragainst things like GMO labeling in their states. It does seem ironic. If the actis passed, it will truly be a dark day for America.

Monsanto is acorporation with great wealth, now controlling over 90% of soybean and corngrowth in America. Family farms have been replaced by giant agri corp farms across this great vastcountry we call home. Farm aid and other organizations have been fighting thelosing battle against this for 30 years now.

Dairy and meat farmingis done in those white sheds you see from the freeway, no longer on the greenpastures of home with the old farmhouses and barns. Those beautiful buildingsnow stand in ruin across the country. This has happened on our watch while thecountry slept, distracted by advertising and false information from thecorporations. Monsanto and others simply pay the politicians for voting theirway. This is because of “Citizens United”, a legislation that has made itpossible for corporations to have the same rights as people, while remaining immune topeople’s laws.

Both Democratic andRepublican front runners arein bed with Monsanto, from Clinton to Bush, as many government branchesare and have been for years. This presidential election could further cementthe dominance of corporation’s rights over people’s rights in America. If youhave a voice you have a choice. Use it.

On the human side, thefilm I would like you to see tells the story of a farming family in America, but the same thing is happening around the world. It is a story that takes 10minutes of your time to see. It is a simple human one, telling theheartbreaking story of one man who fought the corporate behemoth Monsanto, andit illustrates why I was moved to write The Monsanto Years.

The film presents a rareopportunity to hear from the source as Mr. White is one of only four farmerswho is still legally allowed to speak about his case as all the others havebeen effectively silenced.

Thanks for reading thisand I hope you look at this simple and powerful film, “Seeding Fear”.
