For some reason, my city, Ormond Beach, hasn’t received any bids this year for hydrofluorosilicic acid, a chemical used to fluoridate city water supplies. And because of this, it’s possible that the City Commission could change the ordinances requiring water fluoridation in our city. 1

“The ordinance in question dates back to 1957 and section 11-1b reads that ‘the utilities division of the city is hereby directed to provide the means and to proceed with the introduction of fluorine into the water supply in accordance with the provisions of this section and as directed by and in accordance with the regulations of the state pertaining to the fluoridation of public water supplies.”2

As you might imagine, local dentists are pretty sure it would be the end of the world to stop pumping people full of fluoride. Speaking about the potential new ordinance, local dentist Daniel Drake said in an email, “If the city of Ormond Beach ceased to add fluoride to its water supply we will likely see an increase in dental decay. An increase in dental decay will no doubt lead to an increase in dental pain, out of pocket expenses, and at worst, a decrease in quality of life for those affected.”3 (He’s still buying the CDC lie that fluoride is one of the 10 great health achievements of the 20th century.)

One commissioner in particular, Troy Kent, has been concerned about the state of our water for the last 7 years. Back then he wrote a letter to Harcros, the chemical supplier for the city’s supply of hydrofluorosilicic acid, asking for the material safety data sheet on the chemical. When he got no response, he sent the same letter to the 47 other chemical suppliers in the US. NOT ONE company responded to him.

I’m personally watching this story with a lot of excitement. It would be nice to know that Ormond Beach wasn’t pumping its citizens full of poison. What about your town? Is the water fluoridated?
