It’s not every day that your favorite burger joint, or many burger joints for that matter, start carrying a plant-based burger that ISN’t just made from black beans. But that’s what BurgerFi is doing on July 3rd!1 (Hopdoddy Burger Bar, a small Texas-based chain, is also doing something similar by putting the Impossible Burger, another plant-based burger, on the menu in 11 of their 18 stores! For those of us who don’t eat meat this is GREAT news.)

Beginning that day, eight of its 101 stores around the country, Malibu, Calif.; New York City; Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Philadelphia; Coral Springs, Fla.; Coral Gables, Fla.; and two stores in Delray Beach, Fla, will carry patties from Beyond Meat. The “Beyond Burger” is made from proteins derived from peas and other plants and has no cholesterol. 2 It seems that BurgerFi is paying attention to what their clients are asking for, which is just good business.

BurgerFi plans to roll out the Beyond Burger to all of its stores by the end of the summer. The burger will sell for $8 to $9.

BurgerFi CEO, Corey Winograd said, “I’ve always thought I had a robust vocabulary, but Paul introduced me to the word ‘flexitarian.’ I’ve now come to understand that there’s a growing number of semi-vegetarian people who want a primarily plant-based diet, and since we want to appeal to 100 percent of consumers out there, we have to have something for them.”3 God bless you sir!
