Whether you live in Connecticut or not, you may have seen the stories plastered across the Internet (even from mainstream news and network affiliates) stating that children will be banned from school if they don’t have their flu shots. One famous holistic doctor, who we know, went as far as to state on her site that there are only medical exemptions now in the state of Connecticut.
That is simply not true.
The good news is that there are medical exemptions but there are also religious exemptions. I’ve never met anyone in the great state of Connecticut yet who cannot get one and it only takes about 10 minutes to fill out the forms. So yes, your kid can go to school without getting the flu shot. Don’t be scared by the mainstream or even the alternative news telling you they cannot. I am fortunate to be surrounded by many holistic doctors, including my better half of 10 years, Dr. Mercola, who have all confirmed this fact. As has the National Vaccine Information Center: you do not have to get the flu shot to go to school in the state of Connecticut so long as you have your religious exemption.
