They have already reported on the studies that showed that tied fluoridated water with obesity and ADD? And now we see fluoride might not help protect teeth at all? We think they’re beginning to see the light.
Fluoridation May not Prevent Cavities
From the breaking news article Newsweek wrote on failed fluoridated water.
The Cochrane Collaboration, a group of doctors and researchers known for their comprehensive reviews—which are widely regarded as the gold standard of scientific rigor in assessing effectiveness of public health policies—recently set out to find out if fluoridation reduces cavities. They reviewed every study done on fluoridation that they could find, and then winnowed down the collection to only the most comprehensive, well-designed and reliable papers. Then they analyzed these studies’ results, and published their conclusion in a review earlier this month.
These papers determined that fluoridation does not reduce cavities to a statistically significant degree in permanent teeth, says study co-author Anne-Marie Glenny, a health science researcher at Manchester University in the United Kingdom.
But they were even more frank about their findings. The scientists were actually shocked (which is ironic, as our holistic dentists have been saying this for generations)
“Insufficient Evidence” to support Fluoridation
More from the article:
The scientists also found “insufficient evidence” that fluoridation reduces tooth decay in adults…
“From the review, we’re unable to determine whether water fluoridation has an impact on caries levels in adults,” Glenny says.
“Frankly, this is pretty shocking,” says Thomas Zoeller, a scientist at UMass-Amherst uninvolved in the work. “This study does not support the use of fluoride in drinking water.
Over the year and a half I’ve had this site- I feel like a broken record sometimes. I report on things like marijuana studies where the scientists are shocked that it helps people and even children with seizures and cancers. I share how scientists realize vaccines like Merck’s MMR is ineffective and Merk’s own virologists are suing Merck because of the inefficacy. I understand (like the justice system) the wheels of science grind slowly, but they do grind. I cannot wait to find out what other grave mistakes we’ve made.
From fluoridating the water for nearly a century to giving vaccines that could be potentially harmful and or ineffective. Oh and don’t forget DDT and Agent Orange. Now it appears DDT could quadruple a woman’s chance for breast cancer if she was exposed to it in utero (that’s many women over 40 and sadly I’m in my early 40’s and would fall in this category) Ah and what about Agent Orange? Just a few weeks ago they announced our US government will use our tax dollars to pay Veterans millions which they deserve for the harm caused by Agent Orange. Too bad the chemical companies don’t have to pay. But that seems to be the American way. Hopefully things change and we can undo some of the damage that has been done to our country, our planet, our bodies and even our teeth.
