The late actor, Paul Newman, founded Newman’s Own in 1982 after a homemade salad dressing gained popularity among his peers.

He and co-founder, A.E. Hotchner, started what would come to be known as one of the companies that cares about the health of its customers.

In June, 2016, the company released organic pasta sauces and now has its sights set on turning its six most popular salad dressings organic.  Olive oil and vinegar, balsamic, Italian, ranch and Caesar, the dressings are made from cold-pressed organic extra virgin olive oil blended with organic herbs and spices.

The company “started as a joke and got out of control,” according to Newman.  Now it’s one of the most respected food companies on the market.
