Don’t run to McDonald’s, please- for so many reasons, but it seems that the restaurant chains icon Chicken McNuggets are no longer made with artificial preservatives. I’m just as shocked as you BUT this proves what I always say- we are making a difference.
(A bit of info about the company McDonald’s:)
McNugget Ingredients and other Facts
From the article:
“As of Monday, breakfast menu items including pork sausage patties, omelet-style eggs and scrambled eggs also no longer contain artificial preservatives. And McDonald’s announced that new buns will hit restaurants this month that no longer have high fructose corn syrup, including the buns used for Big Macs and McChicken sandwiches.”
The People have are being heard by McDonalds
They aren’t doing this out of the goodness of their hearts but rather the empty feeling at the bottom of their pockets; these menu upgrades are their latest attempt to remake their image because we the people are more concerned with eating healthy, natural food.
“Executives touted the changes for catering to diners who want to know more about what goes into their food and how it’s prepared. McDonald’s spokeswoman Becca Hary did not address a follow-up question about what preservatives the company cut out but said the McNuggets taste the same.”
McDonalds Cage-free Eggs
And they aren’t stopping there, they announced a transition- last year- to using only cage-free eggs, but that’s still not good enough. Check out this video about “cage free” chickens, and if you have children around, there is a bit of language so be careful:
The transition is expected to take 10 years, but they were able to finish ahead of schedule when they stopped using chicken treated with antibiotics.
All combined, the changes announced will affect ingredients in nearly half the food their U.S. menu (which will continue to cost the same price), the company said.
