Just this past October, Lady Gaga released her fifth album entitled, Joanne. Named for her late aunt, who died at 19 from complications of her lupus, Joanne Germanotta was so traumatized by sexual assault that her lupus flared up. Sadly, she died very quickly after her assault. That understandable tragedy, stayed with Gaga and her family and was an inspiration.

From the article:

“Though Gaga never got to meet Joanne (she passed away 12 years before the singer was born), she often shares the many ways in which her aunt touched her life. Joanne is one of Gaga’s middle names (her given name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta), and the singer has the date of Joanne’s passing, December 18, 1974, tattooed on her left arm. Gaga also credits her aunt’s legacy to her recovery from cocaine addiction in her early career. Germanotta was a writer and painter during her short life, and Gaga felt a responsibility to finish her aunt’s creative work—and that determination helped her kick the drug habit she believes would have killed her if she didn’t stop.”

The album features a song titled Joanne and features the following lyrics, “Take my hand, stay Joanne, Heaven’s not Ready for you, Every part Of my aching heart Needs you more
Than the angels do”

Lupus is an autoimmune disease where a person’s own immune system attacks their body and causes inflammation. It can affect nearly any part of the body, and includes symptoms like joint pain, rashes, bloody urine, chest pain, mental health issues, and hair loss. The disease is often marked by flares, times when symptoms are more intense than others. Stress is a major factor in a flare-up.

While there is no cure for lupus, many holistic health specialists and doctors can help you free yourself from flare-ups and rampant inflammation. Check out the articles below for more information.
