The Keto Diet has its supporters and apparently, some loud detractors, as well!

RELATED STORY:

This week, former “Biggest Loser” trainer Jillian Michaels,’ slammed the weight loss lifestyle and received backlash. Michaels feels the Keto Diet starves the body’s cells of essential macronutrients. “According to Michaels, the high-fat, low-carb diet ignores the reality that ‘your cells, your macromolecules, are literally made up of protein, fat, carbohydrates, nucleic acids,’ and can threaten the body’s overall health.”1

She went so far as to say, “To make a very long story short: Avoid the keto diet. Common sense.”

However, her nutrition advice didn’t sit well with some celebs.

Andy Cohen called her a jackhole and said, “Don’t feel bad, keto diet. A lot of people think Jillian Michaels is a bad idea.”2And Today weather anchor Al Roker took to Twitter:

But despite the backlash, Michaels doubled down and offered via Twitter to have a debate. To date, no one has taken her up on her offer.
