The Santa Rosa County School District has (thankfully) had to suspend their student vaccination program because, once again, nurses were found to have administered vaccines to children whose parents had opted out. Indeed many parents (shown in the video below) said they had requested the school not vaccinate their child, only to learn once their kids got home that they had done so anyway.

Krystal Simmons, told ABC’s WEAR-TV, “I also wrote in capital letters with stars ‘Do not give my child a flu shot.’ And I signed my name at the bottom of it. She had a welt on her arm and she told me that she got the flu shot and she told me she told the lady ‘no’ and that she wasn’t supposed to and they gave it to her anyways.” 1(A clear violation of that parent and child’s right.)

Amazingly enough, the school system doesn’t seem to be doing anything beyond suspending the program.

Another parent said, “I didn’t even sign the paper. I didn’t sign it. I didn’t send it back. I just got it out of my truck actually. so the fact that he got the vaccine that I didn’t want him to have anyway kind of angers me. Because he’s still throwing up as of yesterday.”2

It remains to be seen what, if anything the school department will or if they will institute the program again next year. I suppose if they do and you live in that school district, that maybe you should keep your children home that day.

We will update you as more information becomes available.
