Diet soda helps weight loss – Company Funded Lies

So now we’ve heard it all.  The National Beverage Associate paid for a “study” to show us that  allegedly diet soda helps weight loss!  Their “study” took diet soda drinkers and  had half the people continue to drink diet soda. They then took the other half and had them drink whatever they pleased  (and we doubt they stuck to water or organic tea or any kind of healthy drinks)  This is headline news and trending all over social media as people say they’re going to go on diet soda to lose weight.

First off, most of these diet sodas contain aspartame which some experts say is the most dangerous substance in our food supply.  Secondly, there have been a number of studies NOT paid for by the soda companies that explain it can cause weight GAIN, type 2 diabetes, the artificial sweetener gives you headaches (probably the least of your worries when drinking it) and a whole host of other problems.

Sad to see the media even entertaining this idea but at least they do mention who paid for it.  When I lost 30 lbs I didn’t drink any soda at all. I did have coconut water, almond milk and didn’t count calories but I consumed real beverages (even some organic home brewed iced tea with stevia)  I don’t recommend sodas  (diet or otherwise) to anyone. Oh and PS- one other thing you’ll see in the last link that diet soda can do? Ruin your teeth and smile. So just imagine what it’s doing to your insides 🙂
