This is such sad news. Our hearts go out to the family, friends and loved ones of the Carver’s, including their two now orphaned daughters.

A husband and wife survived the Las Vegas shooting, only to die, days later, in a bizarre single-car accident in their own neighborhood.

From the Las Vegas Review-Journal (bought by Billionaire Vegas Tycoon Sheldon Adelson, as even mainstream says he wants to “control the news”, but more about him later):

“When Dennis Carver realized the loud cracks weren’t fireworks but instead rapid gunfire, he jumped on top of his wife, Lorraine (Lora) Carver, to shield her from the bullets.

‘That’s just the kind of love they had for each other,’ Brooke Carver, the couple’s oldest daughter, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. ‘Their love was selfless.’

Minutes earlier, the couple had been line dancing and singing along to country performer Jason Aldean at the Route 91 Harvest music festival on Oct. 1. It was during the third or fourth lull in gunfire when the two got up, hand in hand, and started running. They ran for their lives and didn’t stop until they got out uninjured, their daughter said.”

We cannot imagine the bond they had. Their father sounds like a hero for jumping on his wife to shield her from any bullets that might hit. We are told a man was shot just next to them, so they were happy to be alive. Friends and family rejoiced in the fact they were safe and sound after living through the tragedy of the massacre.

More from the Review-Journal:

“Two days after the shooting attack, the couple, who lived in Henderson part time and owned a plumbing company, returned to their Riverside County home in California. They would go on to spend the next two weeks more in love than ever with each other and with life.”

Their daughter, Brooke, age 20, told the journal  “The last two weeks of their lives were really just spent living in the moment.”

RELATED STORY:

Sadly, tragedy struck.

Literally.

From the Review-Journal:

“But on the night of Oct. 16, the couple’s younger daughter, 16-year-old Madison Carver, heard a loud bang outside her window. When she ran down the street and rounded the corner, a familiar vehicle engulfed in flames came into view. Dennis, 52, and Lorraine, 53, had died together less than half a mile from their home.”

It took firefighters nearly an HOUR to put out the fire of their sedan, the department said in a statement. (Experts tell us this is highly abnormal.)

From the RiversideCountyNewsSource.com:

“Officials have identified a local couple who died in a single-vehicle, fiery wreck in the unincorporated community of La Cresta. Both victims died Monday, Oct. 16, after their vehicle crashed into a metal speaker intercom and two brick pillars at the front gate of private, residential property. (in their own neighborhood where they lived.)

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s officials later identified 52-year-old Dennis Carver, and 54-year-old Lorraine Carver as the couple killed in the fiery crash.

The accident reportedly happened when for an unknown reason, the driver, later identified as Dennis Carver, allowed the couple’s 2010 Mercedes-Benz sedan to leave the roadway along a sweeping curve on Avenida De Arboles, just north of Palo Alto Lane. (This would be their own residential neighborhood.)

CHP’s investigation into the deadly wreck is active and ongoing.”

Interestingly the Las Vegas Review (owned by Sheldon Adelson) didn’t go into any of those details of the single car fiery crash in the upscale neighborhood.

Keep reading because there’s more.

From the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

“Where others see a tragedy, the couple’s daughters see a show of love.

If they had to lose both their parents at the same time, they said they’re thankful it happened so close to the time of the Las Vegas massacre.

‘We were so relieved when they got out of the shooting alive,’ Brooke said. ‘But I also think we’ve been given little pieces of them that we would’ve never gotten if the shooting hadn’t happened right before they died.’”

They go into a bit of a long description how, after the shooting, Dennis Carver bought his wife flowers as are pictured below from her Facebook page.

Their daughter stated to the review “Nearly a month later, not a single petal had fallen from the dried-up roses.” “It’s almost as if they’re frozen in time,” her sister added. “We’re so lucky we have those flowers to remind us of them.”

The Review goes on to say:

“A week after the fatal crash, another item carrying memories of their 52-year-old father showed up on their doorstep. During the confusion of the shooting, he had lost his phone, but a Las Vegas FBI agent promised to ship the phone to him.

‘When we turned it on, all his photos and messages were still there,’ Brooke said. ‘This is how we know they’re looking down and watching over us.’”

We cannot imagine how the daughters felt receiving their father’s phone a full week after their parents were killed, or what took the bureau so long to get the phone back to them.

All those questions and more remain a mystery; in fact, many question whether or not video footage of the show was erased, as we know they took videos of the concert (they are linked above right from their Facebook page).

Here are their two surviving daughters in happier times (FB profile).

The husband and wife had been together for 22 years and had two children. Their daughter said it was always just the four of them but they never felt lonely.

The Review stated:

“Now they’re down to two (which we at HNN found a bit macabre)  but the daughters say they plan to honor their parents’ memory by living by their family motto: We do as we do and we be happy.

‘We’ve found some peace in knowing that our parents just loved each other so much that they had to go at the same time,’ Madison said. ‘They couldn’t live without each other.’”

Again, our hearts go out to their children, at least one of whom witnessed the fiery single-carr crash into the gate and intercom system in their own neighborhood.  We will do a story about Billionaire tycoon Sheldon Adelson (owner of the Venetian and much more) at a later time. (He not only bought the paper, but sued at least one of the journalists into bankruptcy for alleged libel.)

As we have put many hours into researching the Las Vegas massacre and travel there next week, we keep seeing the name of one of the richest men in the world who owns the very newspaper we quote. That’s no surprise due to his presence in Las Vegas, but check out the video on him below. He is connected to Karl Rove and the Koch Bros. His second and current wife is an MD, having worked in the Pharma world, and went to ROCKEFELLER UNIVERSITY in New York.

Let’s hope there are no more sudden tragic deaths of survivors of Las Vegas to report.
