Editor’s note: Why is this barely in local news (only one source), let alone mainstream news nationwide?
A prominent doctor who headed a department at the holistically-minded Cleveland Clinic, and a Libertarian presidential candidate (until last month) was found dead Wednesday in a motel in Ohio.
According to his blog, Dr. Feldman says he was against:
- Forced vaccinations
- Genetically modified organisms
- Campaign contributions
- Criminalizing cannabis (he wanted it legalized)

“Marc A. Feldman, 56, of Beachwood was found at the America’s Best Value Inn in the 14000 block of Brookpark Road. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released an official cause of death.
The Cleveland Clinic issued a statement saying: “We are saddened by the sudden loss of Dr. Feldman. He was a talented physician and will be missed.”
Last month, Feldman lost the nomination for the Libertarian party to New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson. We are shocked and saddened, and talking with some of his colleagues who are still in disbelief.

Carla Howell, the party’s political director, was stunned to learn of Feldman’s death. She called the Feldman family home in Beachwood and spoke with a family friend who confirmed his death.
“This is absolutely horrible,” she said.
Nicholas Sarwark, chair of the party’s national committee was quoted as saying, “He was a delightful, spirited, and dedicated Libertarian who inspired and won the hearts of many. Our deepest condolences to his family on their loss.”
Someone called the front desk to say Feldman was unresponsive. First responders arrived soon after. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
