Alex Bowen, from West Columbia, South Carolina had a little too much to drink Thursday night and decided he needed some food in his stomach. However, when he arrived at the local Waffle House, just a block away from his house, the staff was asleep.

After waiting at the register for 10 minutes for someone to take his order, and having not found any employees to help him, he helped himself!

“The 36-year-old decided he was going to get on the hot grill and make himself a Texas bacon cheesesteak melt. He even cleaned up after he was done.

Although he did not initially pay for his sandwich, Bowen came back and paid for it later that day.”1

So far, his Facebook post has been shared more than 1,000 times. And, it looks like his little field trip earned him a job; a Waffle House district manager reached out to Bowen and asked him to become a Waffle House secret shopper!

The things people do…
