Federal, state and local authorities in northeastern Ohio have concluded a joint-effort this past month that led to the recovery of 35 missing kids between the ages of 13 and 18.

Authorities called “Operation Safety Net” a success, yet there are still five open cases remaining. WOIO reports the children were located in Cleveland, Akron, Mansfield, Columbus, and as far away as Miami, Fla.

A little more than 20 percent of the children had ties to human trafficking.
