Thanks to the ever present reminders on social media that other people’s lives appear to be better than yours, many people feel pressure to always appear happy and perfect. But not only is this unrealistic but unsustainable. And with the month of May being “Mental Health Awareness” month Burger King partnered with Mental Health America to create “a selection of meals designed to suit a variety of different moods, as it aims to spread the message that ‘no one is happy all the time’.”1

The new “Real Meals” are inspired by different moods:

  • Pissed Meal
  • Blue Meal
  • Salty Meal
  • YAAAS Meal
  • and the DGAF Meal

In a press release, Burger King stated the brand “believes in authenticity and welcomes all guests” and that a “natural extension of encouraging people to ‘be their way’ is encouraging them to ‘feel their way.'”1

Also, “Happy” is not one of the choices. (Maybe a jab at McDonalds, too?)

The boxed meals include a burger, french fries and beverage. On Wednesday after the news was announced, the tweet became inundated with numerous comments from fans of the new campaign.1 Yes, people love this.

RELATED STORY:

The meals are only available for a limited time and only at select Burger Kings in Austin, Seattle, Miami, Los Angeles and New York City.
