Best Buy sorry for price gouging water during Hurricane Harvey

A Best Buy store in Houston tried to get away with selling 12-packs of Smartwater for $29.98 and 24-packs of Dasani for a staggering $42.96… because I guess they forgot about smart phones and the internet?

After the above photo went VIRAL, the company immediately pulled it back and blamed the inflated prices on a couple of employees:

“This was a big mistake on the part of a few employees at one store on Friday. As a company we are focused on helping, not hurting affected people. We’re sorry and it won’t happen again.”1

I wonder how long they would have accidentally sold water for that much, had someone not taken them to task? Makes you think…
