Berkeley Doctor Claims That People Die From Chemotherapy NOT Cancer

Sadly, recent stats say that around 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will develop cancer in their lifetimes. This truth is even tougher to swallow when you realize the way we “treat” the disease is not only ineffective but makes the symptoms of the disease worse. In fact, according to Berkeley doctor Hardin B Jones, a former professor of medical physics and physiology at the University of California, Berkeley, CHEMO DOESN’T WORK. In fact, he says its a sham.

In his studies over the last 25 years he’s come to the conclusion that chemotherapy does more harm than good. And this realization has prompted Dr. Jones to speak out against the billion-dollar cancer industry:

“People who refused chemotherapy treatment live on average 12 and a half years longer than people who are undergoing chemotherapy.”

People who accepted chemotherapy die within three years of diagnosis, a large number dies immediately after a few weeks.”

His study was published in the New York Academy of Science.

According to Dr.Jones, doctors only prescribe chemotherapy because they make money from it. And the accusation doesn’t seem unreasonable-  an average cancer treatment costs between $300,000 – $1,000,000.

Chemotherapy In HospitalHe goes on to say, “Patients with breast cancer who reject conventional therapy live four times longer than those who follow the system. So this is something that you will not hear in the mass media, which will continue to carry the myth that the best chemotherapy drug in the fight against cancer!”

Even though we spend more on healthcare than any other high-income nation in the world, at $8,713 per capita, our life expectancy is only 78.8 years. This may have to do with the fact that the mainstream media and the allopathic healthcare system (the mainstream medical use of pharmacologically active agents or physical interventions to treat or suppress symptoms or pathophysiologic processes of diseases or conditions) don’t teach people about the importance of PREVENTATIVE medicine. Eating a healthy diet, exercise, removing stress, and enjoying our lives and others – all habits which give joy – have all been proven to improve health, longevity, and happiness. They are all part of the cure.

Not to mention all the other powerful natural medicines, like cannabis oil, that we can use.

Essential Oil Made From Medicinal CannabisSince there is no money in a healthy population, we will continue to see disease thrive- all the while being fed by fast food and drugs on a continuous loop. But, we can jump off that ride, educate ourselves and our loved ones, and live healthy lives. I did and if you’d like to learn how, click here.

What a crock. I know for a fact that cancer (without chemo) kills. Do yourself a favor and carefully check out his credentials before believing the crap that comes out of his mouth.

  • maryannesentkowski

Cancer is a “boogie man ” word. We have all been conditioned to agree with the Big Phar drugs when someone has cancer. Chemotherapy and radiation is a money racket business, open your eyes. They give you cancer in the first place then they want to help cure it for you. Cancer can be avoided and cured if you change your life style. That’s the truth!

  • Alan Kurtz

He said this in a presentation in 1956! It is presented as if it is current research.

  • Lori Grimes

You can do all the “right” things and still get cancer. If, heaven forbid, I ever get cancer, I will do chemo, radiation, anything that helps me stay in the fight and beat it.

  • maryannesentkowski

I disagree with you if you do the right things you will not get cancer. Does not make sense to me. Doing chemo and radiation is barbaric that is what kills you!

  • daphne

Mary that is bullshit. Have you lived a perfect life free of all chemicals and bad foods and habits? It’s impossible. Just looking at the lives of my dad and three of his brothers and sisters who ALL died of lung cancer but lead very different lives—2 smoked and 2 didn’t. Tells me that it is a genetic and environmental crapshoot. My dad did not smoke and his sister did not smoke and died at the same age of 73 from lung cancer. His sister smoked all her life and died at 80 from lung cancer and a brother died at 69 from lung cancer and smoked heavily until his 50s. Life is not guaranteed. Enjoy it, try to take care of yourself and know that you will die and you don’t have control over it!

This is such an odd article! For starters, the video is an interview with Peter Glidden, not the Berkeley doctor Hardin Jones. (And a 3% additional benefit from chemo does NOT mean that 97% of patients die).

Then I read the original article from True Activist (link at the bottom of this page). The article supplied a further link to info on Jone’s (1956) paper. The link discredited Jone’s paper, mentioning some of his data came from 1926!!, and finding no proof of his untreated data.

Just for comparison, the breast cancer five-year survival rate in 1926 was 25%, today it is 90%.
Are you really going to make sweeping statements about cancer survival based on incomplete data that is 90 years old?

  • The authors appear rather disingenuous when reporting “In his studies over the last 25 years he’s come to the conclusion that chemotherapy does more harm than good.” Harlan B Jones died 38 years ago . . . a death ordinarily producing a decline in scholarly academic medical research activity.

Harlan B Jones was a PhD Physiologist ( NOT MD or Oncologist ) publishing this much quoted work in Transactions of NY Academy of Sciences in 1956 . . . some 60 years ago . . . who died in 1978 . . . long before modern diagnosis, staging, planning, surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and other treatments evolved . . . long before we saw remarkable improvements in quality of life, remission, and long term survival with routine standard of care . . . and promising improvements with evolving experimental diagnosis and treatment.

Not to put too fine a point on it . . . but we couldn’t even effectively see most cancers spreading through the body without major surgery until 1978.

The patients fraudulently led to believe in faith healing, alternative medicine, or simply neglecting to recognize and care for their cancer far too often appear in our emergency rooms at a very advanced stage . . . when systemic symptoms cannot be ignored . . . with disease progression and complications so advanced there is all too often little we can offer other than palliative care.

However . . . for the majority of patients . . . if they were diagnosed at an earlier stage . . . they would have far better prospects for quality and duration of life.

In my opinion . . . having worked with many in the wholistic and alternative medicine communities . . . these “doctors” and other practitioners are all too often regrettably poorly informed, rely on long outdated information, believe the mantra their methods can cure anything, and unfortunately “kill” many patients.

There are wholistic and alternative medicine approaches that may be helpful supplements for established standard of care medical diagnosis and treatment of cancer. But . . . fear mongering . . . particularly delay / diversion of patients . . . in the name of for profit wholistic / alternative medicine . . . is unconscionable.

Mary is wrong on so many levels.Never smoked a single day in my life, and still got a smoker’s cancer. Doctors said I had perfect health otherwise. And he says that people die within 3 years of getting chemo… That’s bullshit! I had chemo over 10 years ago, and I’m still alive. How do you explain that one? And that is not even to mention that my tumor got smaller after every chemo treatment. Until you’ve had cancer you know not what you talk of. So please stop making yourself look uneducated and stupid by commenting on something you have no expertise in.

  • LittlePumpkin

Lung cancer may, or may not be genetically predisposed. Lung cancer definitely DOES have a gene, however. There was rather cruel research involving dogs and cigarette smoke, no cancer in dogs (they lack the lung cancer gene). We will all die, of something, some day. Whether it be cancer, or chemotherapy, choose one. Chemo and radiation therapy are more of “research tools” rather than cure tools. In fact, the cancer centers you see ads for on TV? Research centers, all of them. They never ask for donations for a “cure” notice how they always say “donate money for cancer *research*” research is the key word. And – my final word on this- and I can not stress this enough- do not, NOT! EVER! use your child for this sadistic research. Never!! Would you allow your child (or infant… shudders) to be tortured for a short length of time in order for him to live just a bit longer? but people do this every day. I wince when I see the commercials for all of these emotionally-driven children’s hospital ads, with the teary eyed mothers and the tiny child crying “Mama!” some of the children giving pathetic tales to the camera. This is dishonest and downright creepy.

  • LittlePumpkin

well.. TECHNICALLY his claim is true (those other 97% WILL die, eventually). Chemotherapy is practically torture. Ask me about it! I for one cannot in good conscience, and I cannot imagine any other doctor, prescribing chemo or radiation therapy for a child of any age. It is morbid and no child can grasp it as an adult can. I have yet to hear this statement made in fact “we rid you of your cancer due to chemotherapy”. As Ive stated before, chemo and radiation are not cures, but forms of research and almost exclusively that- that is, this treatment plan is an art more than science. You need not listen to an internet stranger or self styled know it all. Find a doctor who has no horse in this race and ask an off the record opinion (if they can ethically and or legally give you one)

  • Jim Thompson

Agree completely, he’s not a doctor…he’s a money grubbing, snake oil selling opportunistic quack, who should be in jail for trying to peddle fake alternatives…if the BS he spouts about chemo being 97% worthless, and goes on to say that chemo KILLS 97% of patients, then I would be a widower now!!! The chemo in my wife’s case, turned her stage II+, aggressive growing tumor, into scar tissue fragments, it OBLITERATED it!! She had surgery afterward, this was all which remained, we’re now continuing with maintenance treatments until December. If I were as close to him in person, as I am to his photo, I’d break his jaw!!

  • Richard Meyers

    I agree wholeheartedly.

  • Tamara

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. She received chemo and radiation for almost the entire year in 2007 and has been cancer free for nearly 10 years. I’m not saying that chemo and radiation are the cure all because I don’t think that is necessarily true, but it helps in addition to positive thoughts, a winning attitude, exercise, good eating habits, and a decision that you are NOT leaving this earth that way! That is why my mom is still here because she did ALL of the above! I will never forget the day she was diagnosed; her words were, and I quote, “I will die one day, but it will not be like this.” I don’t think my mom even grieved about the diagnosis, she just started fighting right away. My mom is the breast cancer heavy weight championship of the world 😀

  • maryannesentkowski

    Hey Ray,
For your information I did have cancer. That was 10 years ago but I did not have to have chemo or radiation thank the good Lord for that. Ray you have an angry spirit I think you should add prayer into your life, will settle you, look up MOST HOLY FAMILY MONESTERY.

  • Jim Thompson

Such dangerous and irresponsible quackery…if my wife hadn’t undergone chemo this year, (which in fact OBLITERATED her tumor into dead scar tissue fragments) the only part of her I could have ever hugged, would have been her granite headstone!!!

  • Jim Thompson

Mary, have you (obviously not) considered inherited, genetic factors, which cause cancer?? NO amount of wheat germ, kale, exercise, what have you, will prevent a time bomb from presenting itself…what an ignorant, and irresponsible thing to say!

  • maryannesentkowski

I think u are the ignorant one lets just blame everything on genes. Let’s not be accountable for what we put into our bodies do some research on the subject please that’s how medicine started out with herbs now the drug companies have their hands into it. You must work for one.

  • Celeste Rogers

Anyone can get cancer… no matter how healthful their diet and lifestyle. Cancer has been a problem even before recorded history. Also, there is no evidence that any cannabis products have any curative effect on any cancer.

  • Celeste Rogers

Can you cite any reliable and unbiased source of information to corroborate any of your outrageous assertions?

  • Celeste Rogers

Humans have been getting cancer since before recorded history.

  • Celeste Rogers

I think it is rather presumptuous to accuse someone of having an angry spirit just because they say something you don’t agree with and express their opinion strongly.

  • Celeste Rogers

Much medicine is still based on herbs… herbs that have been refined to maximize the desired effects and eliminate unwanted side effects. Saying that someone works for a a drug company because you don’t agree with their opinion is pretty sleazy.

  • maryannesentkowski

I can’t and won’t talk to ignorance do RESEARCH on the subject and EDUCATE yourself please than I can have a conversation intelligent one that is.

  • maryannesentkowski

Ray first of all using foul language and attacking someone pretty much sounds to me like an angry spirit. I could care less if you agree with me or not that would make it your problem not mine. Please visit the website I suggested pleeeeeeeeze!

  • Celeste Rogers

Well, that’s a pretty cheesy (and snarky) way to get out of answering a question. If you can’t corroborate then just admit it. That’s the meaning I get from your reply.

  • troof

If it’s not recorded, how do you know?

  • Celeste Rogers

I have to admit that your question made me laugh. We know because archeologists have unearthed remains of ancient humans showing clear signs of cancer.

  • Andy moore

  • Laurel McKenzie

This is ridiculous. Dr. Hardin B. Jones DIED IN 1978! His study was from many years before that…late 1950’s.
