It breaks my heart to announce that the beloved Alfie Evans died tonight at 2:30 AM, UK time (9:30 pm Friday US East Coast time). His mother, Kate James, announced it just before 1:30 AM US Eastern Standard time, on Alfie’s Official Army page, to hundreds of thousands of people around the world.
Our heart goes out to his friends, family, and those who were watching from every corner of the earth, praying for his recovery.
We have covered the story how baby Alfie was taken off life support by Alder Hey hospital just days ago.
Despite experts, and even the Pope himself (with a jet ready to go) asking that he be brought to Italy where they could care for him and help wean him off of heavy sedatives, the hospital and courts refused.
Reports state that doctors said in sworn court statements that Alfie would only make it 3 to 5 minutes after being taken off life support, yet he proved them all wrong and lived several more days. Roughly 100 more hours. Some say he was essentially starved to death.
He was born healthy, but later developed infections and had myoclonic seizures (which I have as well as a result of vaccine injury), and had spent many months heavily medicated, with the hospital winning custody of the child.
Rest in peace little angel. You will never be forgotten.
