If you’ve seen the movie “Vaxxed: From Cover Up to Catastrophe” (see the trailer below) then you know that the number of children with autism has jumped in the last decade and is continuing to. And in the California public school system that number has risen SEVEN-FOLD since 2001. That’s more than 97,000 kids diagnosed as autistic.

That number represents a jump of around 6,500 kids, or 7 percent, from 2014-15 to 2015-16. This is simply, unacceptable.

From the article:

“The increase was especially sharp among kindergartners, where autism cases grew by 17 percent last year. More than one of every 65 kindergartners in California public schools is classified as autistic.”

While there are many theories which attempt to explain the rise (improved autism screening, broader definitions of the condition, born with autism or developed due to environmental factors) doctors, scientists, the CDC, and lawmakers continue to ignore the problem. Remember, the American Academy of Pediatrics still refuses to entertain that vaccines play ANY part in what is quickly becoming an epidemic.

And, in California, a new state law eliminates “personal belief exemptions” which would have allowed parents to opt their children out of vaccinations before starting school.

(Chart shows the number of students with autism statewide since 2001.)
Our hearts are broken for the parents in California who have autistic kids and have to navigate the system that has failed them, and those who will have to vaccinate- or move- once school starts this year. We HAVE to keep speaking up and out about what is going on. For the kids and all our futures.
