A recent study from Denmark that was published in the European Heart Journal has found that taking Ibuprofen, the popular over-the counter painkiller is linked to a 31% increased risk of cardiac arrest, among other things. Colombian Town Turns Down $35B Gold Mine to keep Environment Clean

Even the people in the small town of Cajamarca, Colombia understand that water is life- and that’s likely the reason that they rejected a $35 billion gold mine project, choosing instead to put people and the Earth before profit. “Around 98 percent of the residents in Cajamarca said no to the mine due to concerns over the environment and water pollution,” good for them.   (Protestors in Peru also said no in the video above.) A Handful of Nuts Is Good for Your Health

A new study published in BMC Medicine used data from 20 prospective studies and found that compared with people who ate the least nuts, those who ate the most reduced their risk for: coronary heart disease by 29 percent cardiovascular disease by 21 percent cancer by 15 percent.
