80th Doctor Dead: Holistic, Prominent and Outspoken Dead in Florida

31475

(Note from Erin: To read the unintended series of holistic doctor deaths, now at 80, you can click here. We’ve included a timeline, photos, sources, stories, and links. Many were friends or colleagues of Dr Mercola and mine, and we both miss them terribly.)

Second update: According to the obituary I read, Dr Winer did not have a wife or kids- although he did have cats (who I hope are adopted). I have also had some family write me and those updates are in the story.

It is with a heavy heart that I bring you the sad news of the death of self-described holistic doctor, author, speaker, radio show host, James Winer, of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania (just minutes from where I used to live).

He was not just a legend in Pennsylvania, but far beyond, and known throughout the world as his friend says below in the video. I’ve had patients write me from college age to the elderly (maybe more than any other death). He was loved by all.

Initially, Dr James Winer’s office staff would not say publicly how or where he died, at least not that we could see. They stated they didn’t want people calling the office asking questions, and, understandably, they’d update folks later.

But then our story came out 11 hours after their announcement (I wanted to give some time) and other sites followed suit.

Within hours of our story, I’m told the staff was inundated with so many more inquiries that they had to respond: Dr Winer had died of cardiac arrest, in Florida.

He was visiting the sunshine state, a place where we’ve already lost so many holistic doctors in recent months.

I have talked to someone I am 99% sure is a relative and they explain Dr Winer was found on a sidewalk. He didn’t have an ID on him at the time. So he was brought in as a John Doe and they say he had a heart attack. He was missing for days alive, but they didn’t know where. It appears he never regained consciousness, but local relatives were able to get there before he died and hold his hand when he passed just days ago.

They said that the medical examiner said there was no need for an autopsy.

We are also looking for clarification about the peculiar comment by a female patient who told us she was recently waiting to see him speak in PA. When he didn’t show up they were told he was stuck in traffic, then the event was canceled. However, it seems he may have already been dead. We will update you on that when we have more info.

We have many cases of our own close friends whose prominent spouses or immediate family died. One example would be the famous best selling Manhattan author and holistic MD, Nick Gonzalez (see recap either #8 or #9 – we had 2 on the same day). They initially stated it was a heart attack with Dr Nick, but then, since there had been many deaths I’d written about, even his own wife (now our friend), decided to do an autopsy.

Despite initial belief, they said it was not a heart attack after all with Dr Nick.

I have met celebrity doctor Nick Gonzalez’ wife Mary Beth Gonzalez, on several occasions and in multiple states around the US. I’ve even had dinner with her a few times and just had the pleasure of sitting next to her at an award ceremony last month in Florida where she was accepting an award on her late husband’s behalf for his great work (I was shocked to receive one as well that night).

We are truly sorry for the loss of a great life.

Two of the last posts Dr Winer ever made were about the doctor deaths I have written about. Sadly, it wasn’t my site where I have spent two and a half years putting the timeline together day by day as more die. It was some site just sharing my story and selling something with an infommercial video which is really awful. It’s in very poor taste and the families of the doctors and I are sad and even angry to see those ads still up by whoever is behind them. We wish he’d seen my stories instead with 78 doctors at the time, then 79 last week, and now, 80.

Dr Winer also shared a story from my other half (going on nine years) Dr Mercola, ironically about heart health:

Dr Winer’s post made just days before he died about holistic doctors dying mysteriously

Another story Dr Winer posted days before he died by Dr Mercola, who I’ve been with over 8 years.

We realize it’s a lot for a staff to handle, but we have droves of patients writing us saying that they just want the story since there are an odd set of circumstances surrounding his death.

Dr Winer literally had thousands of fans on his Facebook page alone and thousands of daily listeners to his radio show in multiple states.

While Dr Winer was 70 years old he looked much younger. His patients have told us he was a vegetarian for several decades and yet another just wrote me to say he was super healthy and they’d been a patient of his since they were 8 years old. They said, like many others, they do not think he died naturally. I understand folks are skeptical. I just wish there were an autopsy just to rule anything out 100% and put everyone’s mind at rest.
We are sending thoughts and prayers to his loved ones.

His biography reads as follows:

Dr. James Winer is one of the leading pioneers in the natural health field.

For over forty-five years he has been on the cutting edge of the alternative health movement, serving in a wide variety of capacities.

  • Editor of the “Journal of Energy Medicine”
  • Associate Director of the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Research Foundation (a prestigious Foundation founded by two giants in the nutrition field, Dr. Weston Price, DDS and Dr. Francis Pottenger, Jr., MD)
  • Education Director of the Hippocrates Health Institute in San Diego (a residential health center founded by Dr. Ann Wigmore)
  • Director of the National Health Project
  • Convention Director of the National Health Federation

He is also the author of books, audio, and videotapes, and articles on natural health, instructor of nutrition at a university, fitness instructor at an undergraduate college, and currently the founder and director of the Winer Wellness Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Winer has traveled throughout the world studying and teaching natural health principles. While living in France, he attended the University of Paris.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brandeis University and graduated valedictorian of his class at Life University, where he received his doctorate summa cum laude.

In addition to teaching and lecturing across the United States, Dr. Winer has appeared on thousands of radio and television programs in Pittsburgh, PA and across the country.

Dr Winer currently hosts over thirty-one weekly radio shows in the western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, and eastern Ohio tri-state area.

He is dedicated to sharing his wealth of knowledge, understanding, insight, diagnostic methods and abilities with his patients and all who are open to helping themselves with the latest advances in natural healing.

There are few, if any, in the field of Alternative Medicine in this country with his vast knowledge, experience, aptitude or with his sincere and ethical commitment to helping others.

Rest in Peace Dr Winer.

If they didn’t “pull the plug” would he have made it? Very sad! Thanks for your awesome coverage of the doctors. Florida is anti-vaccine. I pray it is not coconut oil causing the problem since it clogs my blood vessels. Did his wife tell the details about his health? Why does he have CIA on his shirt? They joked about heart attacks/suicide.

  • umberceri

Again as I said in my last post days ago.PLEASE ALL, AND I MEAN ALL, ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL DOCTORS, RESEARCHERS, ANYONE EVEN REMOTELY INVOLVED IN THE ALTERNATIVE HEALTH FIELD PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE TAKE THE THREAT TO YOUR LIVED SERIOUSLY. WE REALLY AND TRULY NEED EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU. I would have been disabled or died if I had used the AMA medical care model. I am alive and relatively healthy because of you all. WE NEED YOU ALL. Learn self defense AND hire protection. I am begging all of you!

  • fanofjesus

I’m sure I’m not the only person suggesting this, but I am quite sure that these “natural medicine” docs are considered “in the way” for satanist-globalists, who want to use vaccines as well as all the other dangerous accoutrements in conventional “medicine” so as to continue their “depopulation” strategies

  • dan from ohio

Just eliminating those who could help when the deep state releases a deadly virus on America….

  • Wendy Allen

Yes…but also a person may attract what they focus on. Ask God to help/protect/guide/bless.

  • I heeded the warning years ago and I thank you for yours. Bless You.

  • Charlene Palmer

relax everyone. He had a heart attack.

  • L.Dyer

did you get this info from the autopsy report Charlene Palmer?

  • Patty Stewart

    Charlene….wake up…he was killed

  • Mark

This truly is war now against these insideous deep state bastards…were going to need to help of a higher power to bring them down.

  • Mark

    Agree with you wendy.

  • Pale Writer

Good thing I heal naturally and supernaturally while sometimes using the power of Jesus with or without prayer and or also implementing into my very own body medicinal grade 1994 Dietary Supplement Act related elements herbs nutricuticals vitamins minerals and essential oils. Or else some clueless brainless witless idiot moron with a tendency to kill steal or destroy might mistake me for being a natural pathetic AMA unapproved Doctor. They still giving out ND (naturalist doctor) licenses in the States if you go through a course and pay their fee?

  • Ellie

Could be from the Culinary Institute of America.

  • Ellie

    A completely reasonable assessment. :`(

  • Patty Stewart

    You are probably right

  • Charlene Palmer

Yea i know. It just seems so far fetched.

  • Charlene Palmer

    Idk…..It seems really crazy tho…..

  • Alleged-Comment

A health nut dying of a heart attack?? That’s something novel.

Now that you mentioned it, you could see at the picture and notice is left arm is soft and fat and a bit swollen looking. As a vegetarian (the doctor) his arm should not look soft and fat and swollen like that.

It should look skinny and lean (wiry) from not getting enough animal fats and protein.

  • Donna Kuhn

    what are you talking about?

  • Wendy Allen

You may attract what you fear or think of often. God is real and can overcome evil with good/God.

  • Alex Elmagico

All holistic doctors need to buy a gun and learn tactical shooting.

  • SethF1968

Yes you are referencing “the law of attraction.” But it’s not just a matter of focus. So for example, if one hires protection one may focus on it less–or at least less fearfully, and one may feel safer. One could feel emotionally vulnerable
and thus be more physically vulnerable.. Certainly denial is not the best strategy…

  • SethF1968

Well because it “seems” crazy to you Charlene, that means nothing. I’m sure you have never even heard of Operation Northwoods or the Church Committee. That’s why it seems crazy to you–you don’t realize it IS crazy

  • umberceri

While I agree in some sense with you Wendy, but how did the people in that little church in Texan ‘draw’ that murdering man? I think that we are in a new time where anyone who is trying to do the right thing the Godly thing the right thing, the truthful thing will draw attacks. The unleashing of evil is now evident. being prepared and able to deal with attacks, does NOT necessarily attract evil, it is already present. I am now a senior male and I am more of an attraction just because of that. Getting prepared to protect myself is providing confidence in any situation. I am going to be prepared by prayer AND training. What we really don’t need is to be naive and ignorant of what is going on around us. There are 70 amazing people who most likely couldn’t conceive of being done away with. What do you want another 70 to be gone? I hesitate to say it, but Wendy Allen and Mark, it is time to take off the blinders.

  • Debra the Deplorable

That is in Pittsburgh and I have seen those shirts on plenty in the Pittsburgh/Tri-state area.

  • Debra the Deplorable

Dr. Winer was a caring, compassionate Healer!! I’ve been listening to his radio shows for years and been to the Winer Wellness Center several times. I’m in shock, so saddened, and very angry as I know he was murdered. You can’t be a Doctor that Heals and Cures in this Evil society! He was a very CARING man, putting MUCH of his efforts into others health needs!! He will be very sadly missed by Thousands in the area and All over the world!!

I will be 55 years old and ALL my life I have watched the “Medical Model” KILL everyone I ever loved with ‘medicine’ and ‘Health Care’ that has NOTHING to do with CARE!! I refuse to take any pills or ‘vaccines’ of any kind or go to a ‘Doctor’ or ‘Hospital’. I learned a lot from Dr. Winer and am much healthier and way more educated today because of his radio show (and Wellness Center) that was packed with information on getting and STAYING Healthy!!

“Shot in the arm or shot in the head, either way you end up dead!!”

May God be with ALL his Family, Associates, Friends and Patients in this time of grief and bring some comfort to us ALL!! Rest in peace Dr. Winer, you’ve done a GREAT work for us ALL and we will miss you!!!!!!

  • Debra the Deplorable

The war has been waging for centuries now. It started in the Garden of Eden where evil first reared it’s ugly head. Jesus is the ONLY answer, just as He is the great physician!! Jesus heals & Saves!!!

  • Healthy Natural Solutions

Dr. Winer went into cardiac arrest last week in Florida and was on life support. He previously had heart problems that he kept very quiet about & both his parents died very young of heart disease. There was NO evidence of foul play. Out of respect for Dr. Winer, his friends and family want his passing of great acknowledgement NOT one of rumors. His message and legacy will continue to live on with Nutritional Frontiers.

  • zalewskimm

Winer was a vegetarian since age 22, so close to 50 years, not 30.

  • zalewskimm

You base your statement of no foul play on what source? I think that’s what writers are asking. Thanks. His patients were his “friends”. Nutritional Frontiers without Winer may not survive unless the truth comes out unfortunately.

  • Healthy Natural Solutions

I base that from speaking directly to Mike, the main sales rep, that I know and have worked with for the past 2 years. I do not see any reason for them to lie about this. I am not directing this to you, I just think it is wrong to spread false rumors when people do not know all the facts.

  • Why is “CIA” on his shirt??? Is this some kind of psyop???

  • Jeanne Anne Hensley

Coconut oil clogs your blood vessels? Seriously? That makes zero sense. How do you know that is true? There would be other deficiencies and imbalances at play if it were possible for coconut oil to clog blood vessels.

  • Jeanne Anne Hensley

Have you considered that this is the story they are putting out to protect themselves from the scrutiny and from others being targeted? There is never any evidence of “foul play”. I will remain as suspect of foul play in this case as in all of the others. There are ways to cause someone to have a heart attack from a distance and no one will be the wiser. Won’t be the first time and it’s clear it’s been happening for a while now.

  • Wendy Sherman

That doesn’t explain why he didn’t have his identification. This is sooo sad.

  • Wendy Allen

What you prepare for or fear you can attract…matching vibration to the other person.

  • Wendy Allen

It is emotions that give it energy. What you prepare for or fear you may attract. Thinking positive may protect you.

  • Wendy Sherman

Although thinking now……what if he died of cardiac arrest, then his wallet was stolen subsequently? May he rest in peace. The police would know if there was a struggle etc. I don’t think Pharma involvement.

  • Wendy Allen

Coconut oil/saturated fat/monounsaturated fat clog my blood vessels. Heated oils hurt me. When my thyroid was low even fish oil hurt me. Doctors maybe getting hurt by taking coconut oil and it may clog their blood vessels. Yes…it happens. I can’t eat meat.

  • Arlene Caplan

He was out exercising, so he didn’t have his wallet. He never regained conciousness after he had a massive heart attack, which is why he couldn’t be identified. My sister and I were with him when he died, very peacefully. We miss him already.

  • Jeanne Anne Hensley

coconut oil isn’t even in the same class as saturated/monosaturated fats or meat. That’s just nonsense, sorry.

  • Wendy Allen

Coconut oil is a medium chain saturated fatty acid. I can’t have that or saturated/monounsaturated fat/heated oils which make free radicals. I lost my ability to digest fat and sugar. The sugar came back after detoxing heavy metals, but the fat still is not good.

  • Wendy Allen

Fish oil hurt me when my thyroid hormone was too low, but is ok when I have enough thyroid hormone.

  • Wendy, according to his obituary I read (and talking to his loved ones) he had no wife.

  • Arlene, I go by intuition as I’ve written these 80 stories as they have happened, many of whom were our friends of Dr Mercola and mine. So I’m going to have a leap of faith and say first and foremost that I’m so sorry for your loss. If you would like to write me privately my email is healthnutnews.com/recap/ There are countless (and I mean countless) patients who are writing me and writing on his page who do not know this, if it is true and I’ll assume it is. Two of the last posts Dr James Winer made was about the holistic doctor deaths and a story by my Joe (Dr Mercola) Here is how you can contact me if you like. We want to solve these and as tragic as it is, it’s comforting to many if we have an update (I update a few stories often- some become more simple, like this could be, and sadly others get more complicated. here’s my email should you want to reach out. https://www.healthnutnews.com/contact/ I updated Nick Gonzalez’ story when his wife asked me to (sadly his was not a heart attack as they thought when they did the autopsy. Also, This might sound crass, but I highly recommend all our friends to do autopsies on their loved ones and many have. It can give many answers. Feel free to feach out. Heart goes out to you. XO Erin

  • Healthy Natural, I’d be careful with your serious allegations that our award winning site is spreading “false rumors” because you heard it on the phone from a sales rep somewhere. Really. With all due respect, we have folks on this thread who are saying they are immediate family members of Dr Winer commenting right on this page. I’ll go with the family’s recount and have asked them to reach out to me. Also nothing is rumor here. We stated he was here in Florida where Dr Mercola and I live before his own staff stated what happened. We said cardiac arrest as the alleged cause of death before staff did on his page. We stated that he was found with no ID as a John Doe according to his loved ones (on this page and ones who are writing me) before staff or his page did. So do tell me what is false in this article. Please come back when you know the whole story. My site just won an award for Truth in Journalism for this series as I was seated next to the widow of Dr Nick Gonzalez (in my series) and other doctors who had died. I’ve interviewed other immediate family members in the series as well like Dr Bradstreet. Did you ask if an autopsy was done? Do you have any toxicology reports? do you know most wouldn’t even be complete yet? So thanks, but we’ll stick with our fact checking and talking to relatives. Here’s the series should you want to take a look healthnutnews.com/recap/ Erin Elizabeth.

  • I’ve heard conflicting views so am just changing it to – he was a vegetarian for decades. If you have a source let me know. .. Thanks and sorry for your loss.. Erin <3

  • his arms look great to me. I won’t be speculating on that. the cia hat is curious though, but many have them

  • Don Shearer

And my experience is exactly the opposite. Promises of cancer cures sold a bunch of useless stuff and my wife still died. Most of these guys are quacks and in my opinion looking to get rich. Not to help people.

  • Wendy Allen

Thanks for the information on all of the deaths in detail. I appreciate it. Any ideas about the CIA on his T shirt?

  • Arlene Caplan

Yesterday, we found out from the rental car company, where his car had been towed, that his wallet and keys were in the car. They couldn’t check sooner because it was over a weekend. Jim was never conscious from the time he had a massive heart attack to the time he died. All of these negative questions are making it so much worse for us, as his family, to start the healing process. In case anyone wonders how we’re related, Jim’s Father was my Mother’s brother who raised his 7 brothers and sisters when my grandfather died at 43 of a heart attack. And don’t forget, Jim had open heart surgery widh 3 bypasses within the last 5 years.
