We expect this but it is ridiculous to have to report on nonetheless. As early voting began on Monday, some voters in Florida found that Amendment 2 (legalizing medical marijuana in Florida) was MISSING from their ballots. Broward County Supervisor of Elections, Dr. Brenda C. Snipes, reportedly said that humidity may have been to blame for pages becoming stuck together, and causing ballots to print improperly.

(Unbelievable.)

On Tuesday morning, a Broward County judge held an emergency hearing, at the request of Attorney Norman Kent, for claims from the initial two voters, who said their mail-in ballots were missing Amendment 2. Their lawsuit is directed at Broward County Supervisor of Elections, Dr. Brenda C. Snipes.

But now the number of plaintiffs has risen to five voters and no one knows how many more ballots are deficient- although Snipes vowed to check all absentee ballots for errors, saying there could be as many as seven missing Amendment 2. Now, seven seems like a pretty specific number. Why would she choose that number as a guess?

(Check out the video below from voter, Cantor Ballard. She posted a Facebook live video just after 1:30 p.m. on Monday, after she found her ballot was printed without Amendment 2.)

From the article:

“I just went through my entire ballot, making sure that the second amendment entry on my ballot, that I made all the right answers,” Ballard said to the camera. “And I discover that, on my ballot, there is no amendment 2.”

Ballard is warning anyone who votes early to check their ballot for errors.

Ballard was contacted by Attorney Kent, who is representing the original two voters, and agreed to be added to the lawsuit already under review by the judge in Broward County. The judge was supposed to decide, by Tuesday, evening if an injunction forcing judicial oversight on the elections would be ordered. However, the Attorney Kent requested the court wait to rule on the primary issues until another emergency hearing could be conducted which would include testimony from Ballard and two additional voters with mail-in ballots missing the amendment.

We will keep you updated as we have more information.
