dog-put-to-sleep

UPDATE!! Dr. Millard “Lou” Tierce has been arrested (but not in custody) and  had his license temporarily suspended after investigators not only found Sid inside his office but other dogs and animals in terrible shape in his office (some with missing limbs and broken bones in cages for years)  If you click to read the article there are some graphic descriptions so be forewarned.

Dog Secretly Kept Alive for Animal Testing

It might sound like something out of a horror movie, but it’s true.

Six months ago the Harris family was told their beloved family Pet “Sid” needed to be put to sleep by a local vet in Fort Worth Texas. They left him with Sid’s doctor at the Camp Bowie Animal Clinic in Fort Worth Texas after saying their goodbyes and tried to move on.  But the sinister vet didn’t put Sid down at all.

In fact Sid didn’t need to be put down at all. Instead he kept him in a cage in the back room and performed tests on him and used him for blood transfusions as Fox 59 reports.

Thankfully, all these months later, a  former employee called the Harris family and told them the truth and what was going on with their dog. Police raided the clinic and the family reunited with their dog who jumped right into their minivan once he was freed.. Another local vet said he did not need to be put to sleep in the first place. Police have removed several animals from this location and an investigation is underway. One, we hope (if allegations are true) that puts this doctor behind bars and or paying these families some major money and the closing of his “practice”.

So far NO charges have been filed! (even after the raid)  See this video for an update. Warning some graphic descriptions.

Remember, if you have a Vet tell you that your pet needs to be euthanized I always suggest getting a second opinion. But if the pet is truly very sick and you know their doctor well and agree. Please stick around for the actual euthanasia (or ask a friend to do so) just so this never happens again.
