This story is almost a month old but we felt it was necessary to resurrect it again because we are still mindlessly eating without giving thought to what’s going into our bodies. And we expect these bodies to work and treat us well even though we put garbage into them. So, if you missed it the first time around or are just seeing this for the first time- please pay attention.

A young man by the name of ‘Nick,’ who claims to have worked at McDonald’s, started a Twitter storm at the end of July when he shared some of the most disgusting photos any of us have ever seen of the “stuff” that came out of one of the restaurants ice cream machines.

The images below, from his Twitter account, show something that looks like green slime…

A man named 'Nick' on Twitter, from Louisiana, has shared gross photo on his page, which he claims to be from a McDonald's ice cream machine

'This came out of McDonald's ice cream machine in case y'all were wondering...,' he captioned the tweets, which have gone viral across social media

Let’s pretend for just a moment that the lighting is just bad and this stuff is not actually green. If that’s all you’ve taken from these photos, you’ve totally missed the point.
People replied to his tweet saying the gunk must be the remnants of a grease trap, to which he responded: 'This is the side of the ice cream machine! It's not from a grease trap' - and shared this snap

And just to be clear, this isn’t the remnants of a grease trap, it’s junk from an ice cream machine, something that’s supposed to be far less sinister (as far as fast-food goes) than fried food. But, it begs the question: what goes into McDonalds “ice cream?”

Nick then proceeded to show more photos, including dirty floors and dirty machines:

He went on to share more photos of inside the kitchen, which he claimed to be fast food chain McDonalds

He then shared more photos of dirty machinery and floors

He told his followers: 'I got fired from McDonald's. I strategically planned this because I start working at my new job Friday'
He let everyone following him on Twitter know, ‘I got fired from McDonald’s. I strategically planned this because I start working at my new job Friday’ 1
He continued to add photos to his Twitter account and his tweets amassed thousands of responses
He ended his Twitter tirade with a photo of the “fresh” food being served at the chain restaurant:

In a final tweet, he shared photos of what he claimed to be the frozen food from McDonalds

Again, leftover junk, frozen food and dirty floors/machines aside (although really, isn’t all that stuff enough on its own?!?!?!?!!?!?!)- WHAT IS IN THAT ICE CREAM? And better still, why would we eat it?

“Food” for thought.

XO- Erin
