Common Daily Use Items Causes Cancer in Mice

The very first article I ever wrote on my site less than one year ago was about the Dangers of Antibacterial Soap and why the FDA wanted a ban on the dangerous stuff. It was very short but to the point. Now a year later after we had to test it on some innocent animals- we find it out it’s dangerous and can cause cancer. Wow. We are a strange species- we humans.  We use man made chemical soaps (yes, made by our fellow man) and then, a few years later (or more)  say wow, these might cause cancer (duhh)

So we test them on poor little rats and find out it gives the rats liver cancer (what the rats did to deserve this I do not know)

From the article on these shampoos, toothpastes soaps and more that can cause cancer:

Triclosan is an antimicrobial agent of broad-spectrum and one of the most common additives used in a wide range of consumer products, from kitchenware to toys. Studies have also found traces of the chemical in 97 percent of breast milk samples from lactating women and in the urine of nearly three-quarters of people tested. Triclosan is also common in the environment, being one of the seven most-frequently detected compounds in streams across the US.

This is just one example as we consume man made “food”, drugs, makeup, hair care products, detergents  (the list goes on and on) with dangerous chemicals. We test those chemicals on animals to see how dangerous they are and then we use them anyway.  The chemicals in the products we use to clean our house, children, pets, bodies, treat our yards with are also horrible for the environment and destroying our ecosystem (just look at what the chemicals used in lawn care have done to our water ways here in Florida with the manatee dying off (there’s a proven link) but most humans are fine with using them nonetheless.

Personally we have a chemical free lawn, use organic (many home made)  products on our house, bodies, pets and solar powered  cars and I don’t think it’s smug to say that.  I think it’s simply caring about the planet animals and future generations and actually giving a damn.  Don’t feel smug if you give up the cancer soaps. Don’t feel smug if you buy an electric car and power it with a solar panel. Don’t feel smug if you buy products free of dangerous chemicals (because if they’re in there they have to be tested on animals) that aren’t tested on animals because you care about the future of your planet animals and hey those children and grandchildren. It’s perfectly normal… In fact, it’s the people who laugh and want to use  or consume chemical laden harmful products on their children pets and themselves and have no regard for the planet, future generations or themselves who are the smug ones. Never forget that.
